Chinatown Restaurant Worker Report Launch and Press Event September 17, 2010

Over the past three years, staff with SFDPH's Program on Health, Equity, and Sustainability have been working with the Chinese Progressive Association (CPA), researchers at UC Berkeley and UCSF, and the UCB Labor Occupational Health Program to examine health and working conditions in Chinatown's restaurants. On September 17th, CPA is hosting a report launch and press event to share the findings from the worker survey. This event will inform attendees about the epidemic of labor law and health and safety violations facing San Francisco and the nation, how these conditions impact workers, the local economy and community health, and what are the ideas and vision to improve working conditions for Chinatown's and other San Francisco low wage workers.
