A four year collaborative research project with La Raza Centro Legal’s Day Labor Program and Women’s Collective to address day laborer and domestic worker health and safety.

Chinatown Restaurant Workers

A multi-year participatory research project with the Chinese Progressive Association, UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health and Labor Occupational Health Program to improve workers’ conditions in Chinatown restaurants.

Enhancing SFDPH’s Capacity to Monitor Work Environments

A series of pilot projects within SFDPH to improve posting and enforcement of labor laws, documentation of work-related injuries, and provision of technical assistance to community-based organizations, service providers, and employers to increase awareness about worker health and safety.

Paid Sick Day HIA

Health impact assessments of state and federal legislation to document the relationship between paid sick days and individual and community health.

Domestic Worker HIAs

Health impact assessments of proposed legislation to increase labor protections and occupational health and safety regulations for domestic workers.

A health impact assessment of proposed local ordinance to document the benefits to adult health and children's education achievement attributable to the adoption of a living wage of $11.00 per hour.
